A consultation with attorney Janis Peterson-Lord is an opportunity to meet with an experienced lawyer, identify and discuss all aspects of your case, outline a strategy to achieve your goals, and explain the timeline, fees, and next steps you can expect.
The initial consultation is a one-time commitment for a flat fee of $75. The attorney you meet with will have prepared in advance by reviewing any documents you provide. The consultation is a safe, confidential forum for you to explain what you hope to achieve, any difficulties you are facing, your dreams and fears and concerns. We listen and offer our recommendations based on years of experience in solving our clients' diverse legal problems. Whether it involves defense in a removal proceeding, preparing a waiver of your inadmissibility, growing your business with foreign workers, sponsoring relatives to come to the U.S., starting your own business in the United States, applying for executive action under the new programs called DACA for those who arrived here before they were 16 years old and DAPA for those who are parents of US citizen children, applying as the victim of a crime or as a VAWA Special Immigrant, looking to go to college in the US, or assisting your relatives overseas in visiting the United States, the attorney can advise you on how to handle the case.
We'll answer your questions and at the end of our meeting you'll leave with an honest, informed appraisal of your case and the next steps that need to be taken --whether you retain us or not. If you wish to schedule a consultation, please call (562) 494-1010 and go to https://secure.lawpay.com/pages/law-office-of-janis-peterson-lord/operating to pay $75.00 and arrange a date and time to meet with the attorney. Consultations can be in-person or by telephone. This fee will be applied toward your case if you choose to retain us within 30 days of the consultation. You can pay by credit card or Paypal.
Immigration Cases have fixed fees:
Our case legal services are offered on a reasonable "fixed fee" basis. Under our "fixed fee" arrangement clients know what to expect to pay and can budget without fear of costs to seek legal representation.
In civil matters, such as adoption and divorce, most cases are handled at an hourly rate. The fee is in direct relation to how much time is needed to devote to the case. In these cases, a "retainer" is paid and the client is billed on a regular basis if the amount exceeds the retainer.
We accept various methods of payment including Cash, Personal Check, Paypal and Major Credit Cards: Mastercard, Visa, and Discover
An attorney-client relationship is not established until you have accepted and signed an engagement agreement with our office.
